So what is this obsession with jade rollers? Ever since I came across with Fumiko Takatsu on Instagram, I was fascinated to do my research on jade rollers and to find out the thousands years old Chinese history behind it.
Originally jade was adorning dressing tables and played a role in ancient remedies, it also symbolizes longevity and grace. Jade is believed to have healing properties, as it expels toxins, heals the body, revitalizes the CHI (energy) in the body, and slows down prematurely aging skin cells.
What are the benefits of using a jade roller:
Tightening and toning the facial muscles
Improving product absorption
Promoting lymphatic drainage aka body toxins out
Reduce puffiness and wrinkles
Increasing circulation through stimulation of skin
Contouring the facial structure
How to use it:
Most jade rollers have two ends, a smaller and a larger side. The larger side is used for cheeks, jaw, forehead, neck and the smaller side is used for under eyes, brows and crow’s feet.
Important to roll it outward! Move from the centre of the face upward and outward so you are rolling the stone toward your lymph nodes, which promotes fluid drainage.
Regular usage will help to improve and encourage microcirculation and the flow of fresh oxygen to the skin.Overall, skin can instantly appear smoother, more contoured and dewier especially when used in conjunction with skincare topicals.
The benefits are statistically cumulative and medical professionals agree that keeping a face roller in your routine long-term helps with puffiness, wrinkle reduction, dark under-eye circles, pore size and detoxification.
Store the jade roller in the freezer overnight to help tighten the skin.
